Come to JVP-NYC Action Camp!
PLEASE JOIN US AT ACTION CAMP!
WHEN: Sunday, September 15, 2019 | 10am-2:30pm
WHERE: Verso Books (20 Jay Street Brooklyn, NY 11201)
Join us for an Action Camp to escalate the Deadly Exchange Campaign, which seeks to end the Anti-Defamation League’s US-Israel exchange programs and to reimagine safety without reliance on police or prisons.
The campaign is part of a commitment to the Palestinian movement to challenge the deep harm that the ADL causes to the movement, as well as a commitment to movements for racial justice in the US working towards divesting from police & prisons and investing in Black and Brown communities.
At the Action Camp, we’ll work towards putting on a big, beautiful creative action during Sukkot on Tuesday, Oct 15, 6:30-8:30pm.The action will build on last year’s People’s Menorah action, which you can revisit here. The People’s Menorah action came on the heels of the victories of police in Northampton and Vermont pulling out of exchanges.
RSVP TO JOIN:
Just after the Action Camp on the same afternoon, we’ll turn over the space, usher in wine and flowers, and have a celebration of Rebecca Vilkomerson as she steps down as Executive Director of JVP after 10 years of remarkable vision and leadership. The event will be on Sunday, September 15, 4-6pm at Verso. Please join us! Get your ticket now, as space is limited. Tickets are a $36 donation to JVP. RSVP to newyork@jewishvoiceforpeace.org if you’d like a volunteer role & free entry.
