How should we understand this frightening moment in American politics under Trump? When peaceful anti-racism demonstrators are assaulted by military-grade weapons and carried away in unmarked cars; when voting and federal elections are threatened with derailment; when a worsening pandemic and economic crisis become the pretext for authoritarian rule, are we looking at a trend toward fascism? What does this term mean in the American context? And how should we prepare for bold organizing and action in response? After a few brief presentations from the panel, we will engage in discussion with participants.
