DESCRIPTION

Mohammed Sawalha is the founder and director of the Palestinian House of Friendship in Nablus on the West Bank in Palestine. A life-long peace builder, Mohammed created PHF in 1994, to promote the growth of a civil society and help Palestinians fulfill their right to self- determination after the Oslo Accords. After the outbreak of the Second Intifada in 2000, Mohammed shifted PHF’s focus to the next generation, teaching the principles of non-violence and leadership development to Palestinian children and young people through summer camps, a Girl Scout program, and e-learning for children whose access to school was blocked by the Israeli Occupation. For many years Mohammed has also been a professor of linguistics and English language at An Najah University in Nablus.
